You will have moved into a newly constructed beautiful home with a great backyard and friendly neighbours and you are about to start a new life and have not a single renovations in the future to think about . You are thinking about staying here until the day you die . Well , why not make it a home that could be also lovely to the environment ? There are some easy and not so easy tips for you that will make your house eco-friendly . Some might be just daily tasks and some might ask for a bit more energy from your part to save a few power in your house . Keep in mind that everything counts . If you just perform one of these simple things for a start , that is great .

First of all you should check out your home for any leaks . And I do not indicate gas leaks ; I really hope you already have checked that out . No , I will be discussing air leaks . Because if there are , the air which you pay for that should be inside the house sips out as well as the cold air from outside will break in and also cause your heating systems to start working that should only waste your money also energy . Call on a home energy auditor to check if there are any specific possible leaks in your house and when all of those are found just fill up them in by using caulk for example . When this is completed there are some other things you can think about when making use of heating or cooling systems . You should obviously use them as little as possible . I myself want to keep the cool air outside the house and turn on a fire and keeping the heating system on a low energy rate .
NOTE : Always when you use the heating or cooling systems , always keep your house windows and doors close .

When using an Air conditioner , don’t over-use it . Keep it on only if necessary and with a reasonable degree . On a warm day , try to put down the window blinds not to let the sunlight in and turn the cooling system down . And all applies which has filters should be cleaned out periodically ; home appliances where the filters are stocked will work extra difficult and waste more energy . Keep them clean .
Light is also an energy waster if you do not utilize it right . There is energy saving light bulbs in almost every store in these days . Dimmers are also a great way to go ; sometimes you don’t need to fill up an entirely room to notice where you place your feet . Candles are also a good way of lighting – and warming – up a room . Just be careful .

Water should also be used sparingly . Only load full machines in your dish – and clothing machine , shower don’t bath , don’t keep the water running and turn it off while not using it .

Also there are smaller things you can do in your everyday life , things like try and not to peak into the oven fifteen times to see if your pie is done , and also try and use the micro wave more when only heating stuffs . When shopping stuffs for you house , think eco-friendly like energy saving dish washers and refrigerators and such . Adjust the temperature in your freezer and refrigerator to about 2 to 5 °C and the freezer on about -15 . There are also plugs that can go on stand-by by pressing a button which is a huge energy saver . Wash a few of your clothes in cold water , they will get clean anyway . Defrost your food during the day instead of in the micro wave it will save energy .

These are just a few tips about what you can do . When shopping for equipment , always think eco-friendly . More and more people get it done and it will help us to move in the right direction .
